I graduated from Traverse City High School in 1989 and then attended NMC, where I obtained an associate’s degree, then graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelors of Science. I have traveled extensively, including most of the US, and Europe. My favorite trip was to South Africa.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have been married to the love of my life for 27 years and have two amazing children-Jack who is 21 and Caitlin who is 19.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I have worked for Hagerty Insurance, VIKTOR Incentive and Meetings, before opening my own Farm Bureau Insurance agency. My goal is to be an insurance advisor to my clients, not just an ‘agent’.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community? What brought you to Grand Traverse County?
In 1977 my mother, a widow with two children, moved from Birmingham Michigan to Traverse City. She wanted a community where she could raise her two kids and enjoy the four seasons.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
John Campbell, former band director of Traverse City High School, he knew how to bring the best out of his students, through music.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Australia-I want to see Kangaroo’s and Koala Bears and add another continent to my travel experiences.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Star Wars!
Q: What advice would you give to people who want to visit our community?
Enjoy the local family owned restaurants and businesses. Experience Old Mission Peninsula and Leelanau
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I want to Heli-Ski in Colorado
Q: What current or former local business makes you feel the most nostalgic about our community?
Milliken’s and Hamilton’s department stores. Miss the tea room with my mom
Q: If you could choose anyone today with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would you all meet for this lunch?*
Charles “Minnie” Dole-He started the National Ski Patrol in 1938. We would have lunch at Mt. Holiday and then ski together.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Mt Holiday-It is a 501c and owned by the community since 1949
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Continuing to build my agency and volunteering
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
That I have been a part of the National Ski Patrol for 25+ years.
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Morgins, Switzerland
Q: Favorite month? Favorite holiday? and the best single day on the calendar?
December is my favorite month, my favorite holiday is Christmas and the best single day on the calendar is my anniversary on December 31st.

My husband
Q: What is your favorite season in Northern Michigan? And what is your favorite activity to do in those seasons?
Winter and ski as much as possible.
