I’m originally from downstate and moved up here with my family in 2001, so I have grown up here pretty much my entire life. i went to cosmetology school in 2015 in grand rapids at Douglas J. Aveda and have been creating beautiful hair ever since! i love my career and get more and more passionate about it the longer I’m in it. but I am more than just my career!
Q: Please tell us about yourself.
I love all things beauty and making myself feel better not only on the outside, but on the inside as well. i am a huge advocate for physical activity, i love walking my dogs and being outside. i love coffee, reading, and constantly becoming a better version of myself.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
i am a cosmetologist, have been for 8 years, and i love giving someone an experience filled with education to give them the best hair for their lifestyle. my job is so rewarding and i get connected to so many amazing people in the community. it’s extremely hard work and lots of time and dedication, but it is so fun!

Q: What are some of your favorite restaurants in our community?
so many! amical, apache trout grill, pepenero, flying noodle, mama lu’s!
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community? What brought you to Grand Traverse County?
lived here since 2001 when my dads job transferred us up here, worked in my salon community since 2015!
Q: What advice would you give to people who want to visit our community?
to really plan out a long period of time to come and visit, i’ve been here most of my life and there are still places i’ve yet to go! there are countless options to do things here! inside and outside!
Q: If you could choose anyone today with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would you all meet?
i would choose jesus, to listen to God’s word first hand and experience his grace in person. even though we feel it through Him daily, spiritually. i would love to have a picnic with him on the beach of lake michigan.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
my favorite thing about the community is how beautiful it is all year round, no matter where you go. it’s always breathtaking.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
probably how much i read and take pride in continuing education and always learning to be better, in every aspect of my life!
Q: Which yearly event in Grand Traverse County do you enjoy best?
cherry festival, i absolutely love going to the concerts. especially when there is country music.
Q: What is your favorite season in Northern Michigan? And what is your favorite activity to do in that season?
fall! hands down. it is the most beautiful, so many incredible activities and it lasts a while in northern michigan!
Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
comforting, welcoming, a place to be yourself.
